Yes, these are remasters of more recent releases that arguably don’t benefit from the remastering effort as much as other, older games would but again, we can just not buy it. I just don’t really understand why we all sound the alarms and start acting like remasters are killing the games industry every time we get these kinds of releases a few years into a new generation. For the rest of us, just ignore it and play whatever Guerilla’s next big thing is whenever that comes out. It could be a nice little bump from the PS4 game that appeals to people who want that sort of thing. If folks don’t have an interest in it when it releases, you just don’t buy it. Whatever this is likely isn’t slowing them down much or sacrificing a great deal of resources from their other projects. I mean, yeah, Guerrilla are obviously working on more new Horizon whether that be DLC for Forbidden West or the next game (probably both) and a new IP. That said, if it’s filling out Sony’s fiscal calendar, offers a substantial visual upgrade (which The Last of Us: Part 1 definitely does) and folks buy them, that’s really all there is to it. They’re both incredible looking games that can be enjoyed at near 4K, 60 FPS on PS5 already. I’m of the belief that The Last of Us didn’t really need a remake, nor does Horizon. Click to shrink.Sure, I agree with this in theory.
